Dear AVXChange community, P2P file-sharing community, and all other interested parties:

This article is to publish an interaction that recently occurred in our AVXChange Telegram group. We understand there will be a spirited debate surrounding what we are doing, and there is already a spirited debate regarding P2P file-sharing in general. We look forward to this debate and believe we have much to contribute towards elevating the conversation and finding middle ground. However, this following interaction was laden with threats and one-sided and often irrelevant arguments. We will not tolerate any behavior remotely similar to this in the future and have left this interaction on the group and are publishing it here as an explanation for why we will not engage in this debate for some time, especially within our group. For one thing, we are building a file-sharing platform, that has yet to have any actual public users or share a single file. We will proactively list our points in a subsequent article to address this issue of Intellectual Property (IP) rights. This troll engagement is encouraging, however, to understand how threatened some entities are by what we propose. We leave it to the sound discretion of the people to decide who makes a stronger argument.

This article is also to let all future trolls with skewed perspectives know we believe their perspectives to be wrong or at least extremely biased. To us, the AVXChange community, it is obvious their arguments are flawed and we will not engage them after this point. Our time is better spent building the AVXChange software and working with community members who understand the value of our project and wish to give feedback meant to better the project. To be fair, we do not actually know this troll’s motives or if they are actually a “butt hurt” TRX BTT fan, though we find it hard to believe that we would have already irked other larger concerned parties such as major studios etc., especially since we have not even publicly distributed one file over our platform yet. This person fails to answer questions about or criticize BitTorrent which is currently, by far, the largest IP rights infringing platform on the planet. It seems logical to conclude this person is a fan of BTT or TRX, looking to intimidate our community. We welcome converts from Tron and BTT. However, if your intent is to mischaracterize our approach and make blatantly one-sided arguments in an attempt to discredit us, or intimidate our team members with threatening DMs, which was done by this troll, you will be banned. If on the other hand, you have questions not answered in this troll face-off, or in our future post regarding the IP issues, please do engage in a peaceful and respectful way. If you are a former TRX BTT fan and you have already seen the light, realizing that AVXChange will lead the way in this effort to democratize P2P file-sharing and reward IP owners, then we celebrate your arrival and we applaud your vision!

I’ve contacted Sony Entertainement, they apparently said this is a scam and is currently being investigated :/

TweetNaCl, [06.05.19 07:26]
Can you please inform us about that :/

TweetNaCl, [06.05.19 07:27]
Are they going to put in jail the owners and employees?

TweetNaCl, [06.05.19 07:28]
I’m waiting the reply from Disney too to know their point of view

Karl, [06.05.19 08:47]
Troll alert, for those who haven’t figured it out.

Karl, [06.05.19 08:48]
[In reply to TweetNaCl]
You are most likely a Tron enthusiast, Butt hurt because Justin Sun is running away with your money.

TweetNaCl, [06.05.19 08:48]
What? Why do you insult me?

Karl, [06.05.19 08:49]
Regarding Sony and Disney, of course they haven’t authorized us to share any of their files. We aren’t asking permission.

TweetNaCl, [06.05.19 08:49]
[In reply to Karl]
yes that’s what sony said

Karl, [06.05.19 08:50]
Perhaps your energy and effort would be better spent gong after P2P networks who have no intent to ever pay IP owners such as BItTorrent

TweetNaCl, [06.05.19 08:50]
Please clarify on how you will avoid lawsuits

TweetNaCl, [06.05.19 08:50]
Sony doesn’t look happy at all with your concept

TweetNaCl, [06.05.19 08:50]
How do you plan on fighting in court?

Karl, [06.05.19 08:51]
[In reply to TweetNaCl]
We don’t expect them to be at first.

Karl, [06.05.19 08:52]
Large content creators have always been afraid of digital media distribution and have lagged behind in trends because of that fear, often crippling their offerings in the process.(Please see DRM.)

Karl, [06.05.19 08:52]
They don’t know what’s good for them.

TweetNaCl, [06.05.19 08:52]
But legally speaking

TweetNaCl, [06.05.19 08:52]
How you gonna manage it

TweetNaCl, [06.05.19 08:53]
And protect investors

Karl, [06.05.19 08:53]
So to answer your question, which is the good question you should have politely asked in the first place, How do we expect to avoid lawsuits?

TweetNaCl, [06.05.19 08:54]
[In reply to Karl]
You should respect more potential investors, it’s completely normal that I do a due dilligence check before investing in your product.

Karl, [06.05.19 08:54]
1) we don’t have investors,we have a community of users. Our tokens are not interest in the company, but rather the utility by which our PLATFORM runs on.

TweetNaCl, [06.05.19 08:54]
Like it’s bad that I’ve contacted sony?

Karl, [06.05.19 08:55]
I appreciate your due diligence, but please in the future, let’s be less alarmist, and more polite. Please give me time to respond to you.

Karl, [06.05.19 08:57]
2) this is a platform, users can share what they want as long as it doesn’t violate gross agreed on community standards regarding obscenity. Right now, we draw the line at child porn and snuff films, this list will likely increase, but will be guided by the community.

Karl, [06.05.19 08:58]
We will not police copyright issues.

Karl, [06.05.19 09:00]
3) INTENT, our intent is noble. We intend to move users from current uncompensated P2P networks such as BitTorrent over to our compensated network where no work will be shared without first compensating the IP owner, from initial share, to every single transaction, the tokens will be held in trust for the IP owner until they decide to collect.

Karl, [06.05.19 09:01]
4) IP owners should continue to focus their enforcement efforts on networks which don’t compensate them.

TweetNaCl, [06.05.19 09:01]
[In reply to Karl]
But what I don’t understand is that the IP owners didn’t agree with that, didn’t define any prices, you’ll just give them what you want basically?

Karl, [06.05.19 09:02]
5) Our network once up, because running on DLT will run in perpetuity, regardless of the legal debates which inevitably will arise.

Karl, [06.05.19 09:02]
6) We see these legal debates as good press and an opportunity to spread the word about AVXChange.

Karl, [06.05.19 09:03]
7) The company will be registered in a jurisdiction which does not enforce WIPO treaties before even one file is shared.

Karl, [06.05.19 09:04]
[In reply to TweetNaCl]
It seems at this point that your concerns may be legitimate, so please accept my apology for being so harsh with you initially. I’ll again ask that in the future we have this discussion in a more polite, less alarmist way.

Karl, [06.05.19 09:05]
[In reply to TweetNaCl]
Let me ask you this. Have you heard of BitTorrent?

TweetNaCl, [06.05.19 09:05]
[In reply to Karl]
I understand…
Regarding your employees, is the Philippines going to protect them? if it becomes a true “copyright heaven” software

Karl, [06.05.19 09:07]
[In reply to TweetNaCl]
In the Philippines, we are being developed by a third party. Most of our developers are not employees, but contractors who are hired by the third party working on a file sharing platform (AVXChange). Nothing illegal about developing a file sharing platform for another company.

TweetNaCl, [06.05.19 09:08]
[In reply to Karl]
But developpers have already been held accountable before (see Megaupload, Etherdelta…)

TweetNaCl, [06.05.19 09:08]
Developpers (not owners) have been in court and even jailed temporarily

TweetNaCl, [06.05.19 09:08]
Are they “over-compensated” to handle this risk?

Karl, [06.05.19 09:10]
[In reply to TweetNaCl]
Please forgive me as I’m tiring of this conversation. You have not answered my question regarding BitTorrent, nor are you making reasonable comparisons. Megaupload didn’t ever compensate IP owners. Please engage in a conversation with me, by answering my questions, or I will go back to seeing this as nothing more than a troll effort.

TweetNaCl, [06.05.19 09:11]
[In reply to Karl]
i’m really feeling insulted now, you talk to your clients that way? (Like i’m a “troll” ?)

TweetNaCl, [06.05.19 09:12]
I do not have to answer your questions, but you do have to answer questions from Investors, especially if it’s toward Grey areas like Copyright infringment

Karl, [06.05.19 09:12]
[In reply to TweetNaCl]
Let’s be clear, I’ve been overly polite to you, who are not a client nor an investor, and at this point appearing more and more like a Troll.

TweetNaCl, [06.05.19 09:13]
[In reply to Karl]
Alright then, have a nice day… I don’t know what’s your problem, i’ve seen your product on a Medium page, inquire because basically you are going to steal IP owners big time, trying to understand what will be your defense and you keep insulting me.

Goodbye

Karl, [06.05.19 09:13]
[In reply to TweetNaCl]
I will do all parties the favor by leaving this thread on this group so that trolls will think twice before going down your road as well as to answer those legitimate questions regarding copyright infringement. In my head, I visualize your virtual troll head on a spike as you enter our castle. Now I ask you to again please answer my question, have you heard of BitTorrent?

TweetNaCl, [06.05.19 09:14]
[In reply to Karl]
i’ve asked you technical questions about incentivizing seeders, so I do believe I know what is BitTorrent, and quite well on a technical level too

TweetNaCl, [06.05.19 09:14]
Thank you, have a nice day

Karl, [06.05.19 09:14]
Ok, well good riddance, I will continue with the logical conclusion to my question.

Karl, [06.05.19 09:15]
[In reply to TweetNaCl]
BOOM there we have it, I was right! A threatened BitTorrent fan, heavily invested in BTT and TRX frightened of the better tech and approach.

Karl, [06.05.19 09:15]
You sir are now banned

saykhul sahl salim, [06.05.19 09:17]
When airdrop distribution?

Karl, [06.05.19 09:18]
[In reply to TweetNaCl]
You aren’t an investor, nor will you ever be. Nothing more than a troll.

Karl, [06.05.19 09:18]
[In reply to saykhul sahl salim]
2-3 weeks from now.

saykhul sahl salim, [06.05.19 09:25]
[In reply to Karl]
Okay

Karl, [06.05.19 09:25]
[In reply to Karl]
If you are familiar with BitTorrent then you would know that their technology is being used to download copyrighted IP on a massive and rampant level. Not once have they compensated IP owners. Bram Cohen, the inventor and former owner of BitTorrent, nor any of his employees, partners, or investors were ever sanctioned criminally or civilly, in fact their tech and company whose platform is used grossly infringing IP rights was purchased for approximately 130 million US by Tron, to inflate user numbers and attempt to do what we are doing. I rest our case.

Karl, [06.05.19 09:31]
Our pricing will be market price. We will release our pricing structure when we release the public Beta.
